Privacy Policy
Discography is an ultimate frisbee team, and this site was made to help us coordinate and hang out. It's run by two volunteers in their spare time, not a company. We keep as little as needed to function: the email you sign in with, the name you choose, your check-ins and your posts. Only signed-in teammates see names. No ads, no trackers, and we never sell or share your data.
What we collect
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Seen by signed-in teammates only | |
| Display name you choose, and your team group (player, friends & family, admin) | So teammates know who's coming, and to set what you can do |
| Check-ins (In, Maybe, Out) with optional markers: kids, dog, or injured Public view shows only the player count. | Game-day headcount |
| Strategy Board posts and your other leagues (Spin-Offs) | Team strategy, discussion, coordination, and just staying in touch |
| Behind the scenes: sign-in system and admins only | |
| Your Google email and account ID | To allow sign-in |
| IP address and browser type in server logs | Security and abuse prevention |
From Google we receive your email and account identifier. We do not collect your full name, photo, phone number, contacts or location. The injured marker is a voluntary yes/no with no medical details.
What we don't do
- No advertisements, analytics, or tracking cookies.
- No selling, renting, or sharing your information.
- No messages to you other than team business, which you can opt out of at any time.
Cookies and services
We use only what keeps you signed in: a session of up to about 90 days (so your phone stays signed in for the season) and a token in your browser. No third-party cookies.
- Google handles sign-in. Its privacy policy covers your Google account, and you can see what it has shared with this site on your Google account connections page.
- Porkbun carries the site's traffic and protects it from attacks, so it sees visitor IP addresses. Read its privacy policy.
The site and data are hosted on equipment run by the team admins in the US.
How long we keep it
- Check-ins and Strategy Board posts are deleted at the end of each season.
- Your email, display name and group stay until you leave the team or ask to be removed.
- Server logs are kept for 14 days.
- Backups are kept up to about three months, then overwritten, so deleted data ages out of them.
Your choices
- Change your display name any time on the site.
- Ask a Disco admin to show, correct or delete what we hold about you. We'll remove your account, name, check-ins and posts, usually within a few days.
- Revoke the site's access any time: open your Google account connections, pick Discography, and choose to delete your connection.
Security
Traffic is secured by encryption (HTTPS), any information that can identify a person requires sign-in, and Disco admin accounts use MFA.
Children
Players can mark that they're bringing kids, but we do not, and will never, collect any information about the children themselves.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and let the team know.
